Efficiency is a key figure for photovoltaics and solar products. The energy used is compared to the usable energy. (yield / input)

Solar cells currently have an efficiency of around 20%. This may seem like little at first glance. Given the fact that sunlight is freely available and the solar cells have already been manufactured using green electricity, the cycle is complete. Research is of course working intensively to increase efficiency .
